If the corona virus pandemic has taught us one thing, it is to throw away the rule book … especially when it comes to wedding receptions! Whether you have exchanged your vows in your parents' backyard or are planning a winter wedding instead of a summer – the only way to have a wedding these days is to just join in! If it is a public declaration of your commitment and lasting love, the rest will fall into place.
This is exactly why we are obsessed with Hilary + Courtney's capricious heavenly wedding, which above all shows how beautiful winter weddings are (especially for those who have to postpone because of the corona virus)!
H + C are a match made in the stars … and their wedding represents that. Here's their inspiration for the day: We both wanted a super fun, carefree love party! We fell in love with the heavenly theme and moody hues that we felt for December. Since it was an outdoor winter wedding, we wanted to stick to a lunar theme. plus romantic candles + sparkling light.
We wanted to include a lot of little details to represent both of us, like hand-made cocktails named after our puppies and peonies since it was the first bouquet when we met. Music is our greatest obsession, so we added a lot of music to our wedding that reflects our individual tastes, and a couple (Hello, Neil Young)!
With the planning aid from Modern Reb Co., these two make winter in Southern California look good! Alexandria Monette Photography beautifully captured this colorful, beautiful celebration:
Wow, these winter brides
We will stop here and address this Velvet Blooms bridal bouquet. Holy buckets, these peonies! The luscious, juicy winter red wines clash splendidly on Hilary's dress. And Courtney shines in this blue suit from Sharpe Suiting.
Maid in Merlot
The 1880 Union Hotel in Los Alamos brings vintage Old West Vibes to this warm winter wedding.
Winter wedding ceremony with sprayed baby breath
Do you love this archway ?! The sprayed baby breath and the fluffy pampas grass make this backdrop ideal for a stylish winter wedding!
These mini bridal companions are incredibly stylish! Can any flower girl rock a vintage lace dress + baby's breathing flower crown ?!
Processional: Wedding song from Yeah Yeah Yeahs
Recession: 10,000 Emerald Pools from Børns
First dance: Harvest Moon by Neil Young
Hilary's dress from Dreamers and Lovers is pointed + lush. This means that all marine and Merlot colors blend so well into the landscape outside.
All heavenly vibrations
Cue the heavenly vibrations! H + C's love was written in the stars ✨
Navy blue reception
As for the reception scenes, this is breathtaking + heavenly! We love the dark blue bedding and the starry details.
Donuts for dessert
God's land regulations that make our mouth water with these heavenly, marbled dessert donuts.
Everyone told us we shouldn't freak out if things don't go 100% according to plan. That was the best advice we received, because no matter how detailed your plans are, there will be some things that will change. You just have to roll with it. If you have the budget, find a wedding planner! They save your life and your mental health. We found one that suits us best and they managed every detail and made sure everything went perfectly!
