Anna & Denver’s contemporary waterfront wedding

Anna and Denver went from bonding at college parties to saying “I do” at the most incredible, contemporary waterfront wedding. From a Hampton-inspired theme to fabulous outfit changes, these two made the most dreamy celebration possible.

Friends only…

Anna and Denver first met at a university party hosted by a mutual friend. After enjoying their friendship and each other’s company for three or four years, they realized that their relationship could certainly become much more.

Aloha I love you …

This couple’s proposition story is something out of a dream! During a family vacation in Hawaii, relaxing on the white sands and gazing at the blissful ocean, Denver orchestrated the most magical surprise. Anna thought she was being taken to a nice restaurant for breakfast, but Denver had something else on her mind! Denver had organized an unforgettable helicopter ride across the island. This was the moment Denver suggested. After the helicopter flight, the couple met with their family for breakfast. The couple managed to act casually, waiting to see who could spot the shimmering new ring on Anna’s finger.

Beachy and calm …

When choosing their wedding style, the couple opted for a casual, beachy, yet elegant theme that perfectly matched their opulent seaside wedding venue. Her wedding style consisted mostly of neutral tones with highlights of white, green, and blue. These were the perfect hues to complement the serene setting of Whale Beach on Sydney’s idyllic Northern Beaches peninsula.

Two parties are better than one …

The Denver family is from India, so his parents had agreed that the couple would enjoy a pani / roce ceremony before the Hampton-inspired celebration. This is a pre-wedding blessing filled with music, dancing, colorful saris, and the tradition of being covered in coconut milk.

When past meets future …

Anna and Denver’s church ceremony took place in Anna’s high school in a jubilant stained glass chapel. To be able to marry the love of her life in her school was such a meaningful and beautiful moment that will be cherished forever. “I am a PLC girl who was born and raised. It meant a lot to me to be able to get married at my school and in such a beautiful stained glass chapel,” said the bride.

Family matter …

The couple decided to have their siblings by their side that day, but chose not to use an official title and the responsibility of bridesmaids and groomsmen. Anna’s four sisters could choose their own outfits, hairstyles, makeup, and jewelry, but their outfits had to be white to match the angelic aesthetic of the bride. Each sister celebrated her own style, but Anna’s stunning dress was still the focus. Denver was joined by his brother, who wore a sleek, charcoal-gray, bespoke suit with a floral tie and pocket square that looked very good alongside the groom’s style.

Elegant & individual …

Anna’s dress was beautifully elegant with unique details on the seams that complement the simple style. The dress was ivory in color and finished with a pearlescent silk sheen. The top had wide straps that sloped into a textured waistband before flowing into a sleek, floor-length skirt with an incredibly high leg slit. The modern open back was rounded off with intricate pearl buttons on the waistband. Anna wore the most flashy silver heels to add serious individuality, with Anna’s borrowed being her sister’s beaded veil. The groom wore a tailored blue and silver suit with a white shirt and a navy tie. To complete the look, Denver’s buttonhole was a tiny calla lily that went with Anna’s neat bouquet.

Hamptons Heaven …

The reception took place in the dreamy Moby Dicks on Whales Beach. This true boathouse is adorned with whitewashed walls, large pots of beautiful flowers, and a calming view of the ocean flowing through the large wall of windows. The couple knew this was the perfect Hampton style place to fit their wedding theme. They made the space their own by adding large green arbours hanging from the ceiling and three alternating height vases filled with white dahlias and additional greenery. The table setting was simple but stunning, with white tablecloths and gray napkins to make up for it. Each menu was personalized with the name of the guest, which also served as a business card. At the end of the celebration, all were given a jar filled with white M & M’s and wrapped in a personalized ribbon that was the perfect finish to their white aesthetic.

The change of power …

One of our favorite surprises at this lovely celebration was the change of bridal outfit, and Anna absolutely smashed it! From her gorgeous dress, Anna turned into a killer overall that was the epitome of Anna’s style. “I’ve always wanted to wear a suit and when I tried my Toni Maticevski suit, I fell in love with it. It was still simple, but also very funky, which is my style!” The textured suit featured rippling white layers and a phenomenal train!

Words of wisdom …

Of course, after planning such a spectacular day, this gorgeous couple had some fabulous wedding tips to share. “Planning can be stressful! Take the time to relieve stress and enjoy planning your day! Woo-saw (reference to Bad Boys 2)!” They shared. “On your wedding day just have fun and don’t sweat the little things!”.
