Colourful wedding ceremony flowers pop in opposition to black bridesmaid clothes for this Covid-19 couple

Call to all colorful wedding flower lovers! The Covid-19 wedding anniversary from Jemma + Callum shows you how you can integrate strong red and pink tones in a modern way without errors. With the help of event planner Kate Redgen, they have created a contemporary setup at The Calile Hotel. The day consisted of elegant black bridesmaid dresses, geometric ceremonial structures, and some seriously large and lush peonies, dahlias, and phalaenopsis orchids. However, all of that glamor doesn’t mean J + C sacrificed the personal details. They share:

We focused on elements that spoke to our personality, our interests, or just us as a couple. Jemma loves flowers, so the date had to match her favorite flower. Our dogs are our babies so they had to be there. Favors were freeze-dried strawberries from the Noosa Chocolate Factory, which Callum would surprise Jemma with when he went to town to work. We did everything to have fun – like our arched cake and Jemma who wears a dog mask for first sight.

Tessa Shannon nailed the glamorous photos from that day. Let’s take a look!

Inspiration for colorful wedding flowers

How fluffy and gorgeous are these flowers ?!

Slim black bridesmaid dresses

A great way to ensure your colorful wedding flowers are popping? Set them up against crisp black bridesmaid dresses to set the drama in place!

J and her girls shone thanks to Sarah Neill hair and Ash Camille makeup!

Dance with everyone. After the year we’ve had, it felt like the ultimate sigh of relief to celebrate with our friends and family. My two bridesmaids live in a different state and we have been separated all year thanks to COVID. Due to the restrictions we live in, both girls had to be quarantined in a hotel for 14 days before they could attend. It was the ultimate act of love that we will never forget and that made our day very special.

Modern wedding decor inspiration

We love the clean and sleek lines of furniture rental from Avideas Event Hire & Design. Modern brides embrace all things geometric like this round lattice-like ceremonial structure.

The real shining stars of this day are the flowers from Florals and Co. Such bold color stories and we love them!

Processional: Everywhere – Fleetwood Mac

Recession: Loving is easy – Rex Orange County

First dance: Ocean Eyes – Billie Eilish

J + C exchanged vows in a sweet ceremony led by Erin Woodhall.

Dogs are a must for the wedding day

We love that J + C took their puppies into the day! More creative ways to include your dog in your wedding day can be found here!

We booked our wedding in 2019 (days before the pandemic) and then waited eagerly as time passed and everything changed so quickly. We’ve talked about so many “what-if” options and shed many tears, but we were very lucky that our original date fell at a time when things were going well where we live and we are there no active cases in the community have time and very few restrictions. My only advice to couples planning now is to take their time. If there is no need to rush to make a decision, give yourself time to process it and make sure that you are genuinely happy with your decision. Whether it’s an intimate affair or you’re waiting to have a big party, do what makes you both happy.

Elegant dress meets colorful wedding flowers

In the beginning I tried on a lot of dresses, including an impulse buy at a sample sale, which I immediately regretted. I found my dress on a last minute appointment at Luv Bridal on the Gold Coast with my best friend and mom. As soon as I put it on, I knew that was it. It matched the style of the day, just with a bit of drama. The dress is Maddox by Madi Lane.

Flawless! Congratulations Jemma + Callum! We know your day will inspire all colorful flower lovers. All the best from the GWS team!
