Let’s say you LOVE this boho adventure elopement vibe. You imagine rock walls and skirts blowing in the wind, vast landscapes and terracotta tones. But you also love a classic wedding anniversary – what do you do? Easy. You take a piece from Olivia + Gaiges book and combine both! They planned their wedding at an indoor Utah venue, but it still brought ALL the boho desert wedding vibes.
So how did they do it? We’ll lay it all out for you, but first here Olivia with a few details from the day: My inspiration for the design was bohemian desert vibes. We got married in the month of our fifth anniversary and ate our favorite pizza from the wood-fired oven with all the people who made us what we are. Then we danced all night under the dreamiest pampas grass chandelier.
Without the design and planning by Sheri Steele of Steele Magnolias, they wouldn’t have made it! And – ready for a fun fact? – Olivia’s mother is a photographer! You, Jennifer Anderson Photography, and Bev Robison Photography captured the day together. What a special way to look at the wedding through a mother’s eyes!
A wedding in the boho desert starts with color
When you have bridesmaids, there is hardly a better place to showcase your color palette. Olivia brought desert tones by dressing her girls in rusty, sandy, golden tones with lots of texture from Baltic Born. We love a mismatched bridal line-up!
Gaiges suit from True Gentleman Supply was the perfect rust orange color to take on the theme!
And honestly, nobody makes a boho wedding dress like the Rue de Seine! Olivia was prepared for this from the start.
Finding my dress was pretty seamless. I knew that I had wanted a Rue de Seine since I was 18 and had the Reno in my sights. Only one clothing store in Utah (Alta Moda) had it in stock. I tried it on and was out within 20 minutes. It was love at first sight!
Indoor venue with an outdoor feel
Pampas grass lovers, please report to the service. Steele Magnolias designed a massive pampas chandelier and combined it with lots of terracotta details to bring those desert tones inside!
Processional: Dixie Chicks landslide
Recession: Hallelujah Rufus Wainwright
First dance: Is that right? by Lady Gaga
How cute is this getaway car from KDUBSVDUBS?
Boho reception with Southwestern vibes
Oh, we love a low table!
Inside, the tables were set with photos of Olivia + Gaige, along with a lot more pampas grass and vintage decor.
More desert tones and native plants to capture the feel!
Make decisions early and hire a wedding planner / designer. I had tears in my eyes as I walked into my venue on my wedding day and all of my dreams had come true. There were so many helping hands that enabled me to take in the day and have less stress. It was priceless!
The perfection that this favorite table is.
Donut Wall + a marble cake
Finally, a sweet presentation of donuts + wedding cake rounded off the celebration!
Neon over a woven tapestry that gives us LIFE.
And here’s a close-up of the sweet marble cake from Annie’s Cakes!
Such a beautiful day brings all those boho desert feelings! Congratulations to Olivia + Gaige!
