Moody Masquerade Ball meets Edgar Allan Poe marriage ceremony inspiration
Do you remember when the idea of wearing a mask evoked something more romantic? Imaginative costumes and mysterious dance partners, clinking drinks and laughter in the air … the eerie nostalgia of a real masked ball! Today we're diving headfirst into a version that combines Edgar Allan Poe's wedding inspiration with an atmospheric, glamorous aesthetic and is perfect for fall. The vision was a real collaboration of ideas from all the wedding artists involved behind the scenes! The photographer Amber Stallard had to share the following:
This moody and whimsical shoot was inspired by Edgar Allan Poe's love of the dark and the dramatic. All the stars are aligned to bring this "dream within a dream" together. We hope to inspire couples who want a less traditional wedding or kidnapping and really connect with their darker side.
Heather from Orange Trunk Vintage Styling and Rentals led the creative vision bringing all the styling elements together, while Amber Photography captured the details:
The acreage in Alberta provided an immersive yet breathtaking backdrop for the day!

Orange Trunk Vintage Styling and Rentals brought unique vintage pieces that started the day in a dark + romantic mood. And the lanterns from Coven Creative move both the eye and the mood.

All the moody masquerade vibes
Just beautiful!
Very fun fact: these two, Jillieanne and James, are a real married couple. J + J first met when they were both 5 years old walking down the aisle as ring bearers and flower girls!
Mountain Beauties created a breathtaking drama with hair + makeup for the couple!
A dream within a dream …
And for the grand finale of this Edgar Allan Poe wedding inspiration, Modern Bake designed a cake full of over-the-top drama!
