Sophia & George’s trendy Mediterranean marriage ceremony

After a romantic proposal in Venice, Sophia and George fulfilled their dream of a modern Mediterranean wedding with the most magical festival in Greece.

All I want for Christmas is you …

Sophia and George’s love began 10 years ago during the Christmas holidays when Sophia came home from studying in Thessaloniki, Greece. Like a modern love story, the happy couple met in a nightclub! George spotted Sophia from across the room and decided to take the first step by starting a conversation. It was only after enjoying the holidays, getting to know each other and making memories, that she realized it was love, and she could never leave George until Sophia had to return to Thessaloniki.

The floating city of love …

While on a romantic vacation in the floating city of love, also known as Venice, George had planned a surprise gondola ride where he got down on one knee and asked this magical question! “It was the most romantic moment of my life,” says Sophia. After the gondola ride, they couldn’t hold back their luck and immediately called all friends and family to share the big news. Talk about a magical proposition!

Modern wedding in real life …

From the start, Sophia and George wanted a modern wedding near the calming sea, filled with elegant details and refined details that exuded a heavenly aesthetic. Her stationery suite was a bespoke creation of a synthesis of sketched flowers with the personal touch of her own logo. The stationery was a harmonious mix of white letterpress and wax seals, combined with mocha tones and brought to life with dried flowers in a neutral palette.

What I do …

The ceremony took place in a modern Greek church, decorated with stunning dried flowers in neutral tones that matched Sophia’s bouquet. The flowers looked spectacular against the sage green door, the white steps, and the pink and beige wall. There was a table in front of the church with stylish refreshments, beautiful traditional fans, and nicer flower displays. The refreshments were there for the guests before they partook in the heartwarming tradition of tossing rice over the newlyweds.

Meet us at Mango Beach …

The reception took place in the magnificent Mango Beach Bar, overlooking the white sand and calming sea of Preveza. The beautiful bar was transformed into a breathtaking party room that exuded modern elegance and tropical desires. Upon first entering the romantic oasis, friends and family were greeted with a variety of sweet treats, such as lollipops with vivid flowers and exquisitely handcrafted biscuits to match your stationery. The guests were delighted with the impressive seating board with large exotic fans that match their tropical and luxurious style.

A touch of gold and individuality …

Sophia and George decided to fill their table settings with unique and elegant personal details. The tables were adorned with graceful handcrafted details, such as their personal logo hand-painted on the linen table runners. Hand-painted wooden table numbers and porcelain napkin rings with intricate flowers were also included. The menu cards consisted of fine paper fans with delicate silk tassels, which, in addition to the gold-colored dishes, added to the luxurious feeling. The beautiful table decorations were made more romantic and breathtaking by the onset of twinkling lights that hovered over them, creating the feeling of a starry night sky.

Ethereal beauty …

“My wedding dress was exactly what I had always imagined for my wedding,” the bride tells us. The A-line dress was embroidered with pearls, covered with soft lace and showed breathtaking details on the shoulders. The ethereal tulle was combined with a romantic open back and an impressive tulle cape, which Sophia removed for the reception. Sophia designed the dress with an unusual updo and a seamlessly braided pearl headdress. Her makeup consisted of a natural, soft glamor, with an emphasis on her beautiful, warm-toned eyeshadow and a rosy, bare lip. Sophia was the true definition of a shining bride!

Planning problems …

As if the uncertainty of 2020 wasn’t causing enough stress, the couple also faced a cyclone! A few days before her big day, Cyclone Lanos whirled into Greece. A rare Mediterranean cyclone doesn’t go well with an outdoor event and would have made it impossible to continue the day. Sophia and George, as well as their salespeople, decided to be patient not to change the original plans and wait. Fortunately for the happy couple and their guests, the sun was shining on an almost Greek summer day.
