Spontaneous Lake Powell elopement with epic cliffside portraits
One word to describe this sun-kissed Lake Powell elopement: spontaneous! After our original wedding was postponed (and almost everything else that happened in 2020), Kyle and I learned to be more spontaneous. That’s exactly what we did! I think our escape is best described as a spontaneous, intimate adventure that allowed us to start our life together despite the circumstances and disappointments we faced when we had to postpone it.
Alisa + Kyle crowned all their life adventures with this epic elopement over Lake Powell, Utah and Horseshoe Bend, Arizona. These two ventured onto a cliff with their photographer Jordan Voth, followed by another … and another! Here’s a sun-drenched fringe dress and an emotional first look (among other things) at endless scrolling.
First look feels. Do you love it What is more romantic – oh wait, this landscape!
Golden Hour Vows
Between the last minute decision to flee and all the eagerness to finally get married, Kyle and I forgot to write vows – whoops! This in turn led to impromptu vows and a quick game of rock paper scissors to see who would be there first. Kyle lost!
What is meant: the boho wedding dress
Bohemian reality with fringed sleeves right here! Alisa is an eye-catcher in this Adelia Lune dress from Rue de Seine. The embroidery and movement of her wedding dress go so well with the clay canyons + cliffs.
Alisa shares her dress trip: During my bridal appointment to pick up my original wedding dress, I had no idea where or how our wedding would be (if at all!). That was until I noticed the rack of the robes on the rue de Seine; Before I even took off my original dress, I knew I had to try one on. The embroidery and fringed arms of the Adelia Lune immediately caught my attention and I knew right away that I had to wear this dress in the desert!
Because every bride needs a nice bundle! Home Grown Floral Co. has put together this chic boho bouquet with a King Protea star.
Lovers at Lake Powell
Kyle looks so good too! We love the classic black suit against the desert. Chic + contemporary suit from Reiss.
A + K wonderfully illustrate the attraction of spontaneous wedding movements by fleeing on Lake Powell. The most convincing evidence to move southwest? This otherworldly landscape!
Simple advice for a Lake Powell elopement
To be selfish! Do what makes you and your partner happy.
Epic isn’t even starting to cover it with this photo! Incredible.
And they ended the day with a kiss in the majestic Horseshoe Bend … what a photo !!
Last minute elopements have surfaced a lot over the past year (thanks, Covid). We love it when couples regain some of that control and have authentic, radical celebrations!
