This art-inspired wedding ceremony decor introduced the Heilsberg to Santorini
Isn’t it wild how you can find inspiration everywhere? Maria, the talented force behind Tie the Knot Santorini, is a fan of combining art and printed textiles, so her inspiration for this abstract art-inspired wedding seems almost coincidental:
One day I was walking among the scenic trails of Santorini when I noticed the abstract, colorful prints on the dress I was wearing. The pattern complemented the warm Santorini colors so nicely and I thought it would look amazing as a wedding backdrop! So I shared the idea with my dear friend (and super talented photographer) Nisha Ravi and she loved it!
The colors and designs are reminiscent of Salvation Mountain – and the popular man-made travel destination influenced the design of the ceremonial course.
There’s a lot to love on the art-inspired wedding day, so let’s dive into the details!
First a pop of pink
The day began in the perfect spot on canvas – the beautiful, secluded villa of Akrorama. The perfect place for a touch of pink in the form of a beautiful bougainvillea bouquet!
An art inspired wedding backdrop
And now to a total work of art! Kirsty + Daryl from Weddings & Whimsy Santorini are the amazing artists who created the beautiful backdrop of the ceremony. The aisle channeled the Salvation Mountain vibe with flowers and colorful abstract strokes. The huge painted leaves from Betty Flowers Santorini were the perfect end to the art-inspired wedding decoration!
Bridal beauty
A perfectly peach-colored corolla sat on loose waves by Marianna Nomikou and a bronzed bridal look by Renia Bledaki.
Rock the color block bouquet
The bride wore a two-piece wedding dress from Atelier Zolotas and you know we’re here for the macrame details. And can we take a closer look at this color block bouquet, please ?!
OH OK. Betty Flowers Santorini is doing it again with these textures and colors!
Texture + light for an art-inspired wedding reception
Next, the totally dreamy reception filled with lights, flowers and textures.
How romantic is the combination of tulle and candlelight?
Yarn and twinkling lights ?! OKAY. It’s like mixing your favorite wall weaving with mood lighting – brilliant!
Ultimately, Alexandra’s Cakes created two cakes using a painter’s color and design palette.
Yes to terrazzo cake!
Nothing like a Santorini sunset to end the day!
